It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Yolanda Volponi (Pirri), who departed this life peacefully on March 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Yolanda was a woman whose life was a testament to deep faith, unwavering love for her family, and a passion for life.
Her journey on this earth was rich and fulfilling, marked by countless adventures and cherished memories, including many cross-country trips with her husband and sisters, which almost always led to a stop in Las Vegas—her favorite destination. She also shared her love for travel with her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She approached every trip with a joyful heart. Yet, amidst her travels, her true compass always pointed home to her family.
From her earliest days, Yolanda possessed a fierce passion for life. She approached every day with a grateful heart and an optimistic spirit. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol Borough, where she attended St. Ann School. As a teenager, she spent much of her time helping to care for her sister, Michalena, alongside her parents and siblings. One of her greatest accomplishments was working with her sisters to advocate for funding and programs for children and adults with special needs.
Later in life, she worked alongside her sisters, Loretta and Mary, and her brother Louis at Louis’ Salon. She also worked for many years with her niece, Jennifer Moyer (Pirri), and nephew, Harry Moyer, and often said, “It didn't feel like work when I was surrounded by all the people I love!” Yolanda’s strong faith was the bedrock of her life. It informed her every action and word and was reflected in her enduring kindness, generosity, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Volponi; her parents, Rosa and Guido Pirri; her sisters, Mary Fortini, Rita Napoli, Loretta Ciotti, and Michalena Pirri; and her brothers, Louis, Carlo, and Albino Pirri.
Yolanda leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate. She is survived by her loving daughter, Valerie Tyrell (Dave); her son, Philip Volponi (Cheryl); her four grandchildren, David Tyrell (Carla), Philip Volponi, Stephanie McVey (Matt), and Mary Volponi; and her great-grandchildren, David, Matthew, Mia, Mason, Isabella, and Haley, who will forever cherish the laughter, wisdom, and boundless affection she shared with them. Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones.
Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol, PA. Her viewing will take place from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. and burial at St. Mark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions in Yolanda’s memory be made to Delta Community Supports, 1777 Sentry Parkway West, Suite 400, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
