Sara Jane Sottile, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her home of more than 70 years, surrounded by her loving family, 27 days shy of her 94th birthday.
Sara Jane was the eldest of two children, born to Michael and Helen Keating, and shared a lifelong bond with her younger sister, Mary Sottile, who predeceased her. She attended St. Mark’s School, which played an important role in shaping the faith she carried with her throughout her life.
As a young woman, she met her beloved husband, Anthony Sottile. In what became a lasting family legacy, Sara Jane and her sister Mary married two brothers — Anthony and Sonny — forming not only a family, but a deep and joyful friendship that lasted throughout their lives.
Sara Jane and Anthony were longtime staples of their community and a trusted presence in the lives of all who knew them. Together, they modeled a marriage and partnership rooted in deep love, mutual respect, and unwavering family values. As a mother, Sara Jane led with patience, strength, and calm — qualities that shaped her children and echoed through the generations that followed.
When Anthony passed away in 2004, their love remained the foundation upon which their family continued to grow. For 22 years, Sara Jane stood as a steady pillar of her family, providing wisdom and perspective to all who looked to her for guidance.
Sara Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Sottile; her parents, Michael and Helen Keating; her son, Tony Sottile; her sister, Mary Sottile; her grandsons, Brian Sottile and Matthew Sottile; and her son-in-law, Richard Techtmann, husband of her daughter Monica.
She is survived by her children: Michael Sottile and his wife, Patty; Mark Sottile and his wife, Carol; Brian Sottile; Monica Techtmann; Trish Murray and her husband, Jack and daughter-in-law, Gloria Sottile. She is also lovingly remembered by her 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, February 10th from 9:30am-11am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance St., Bristol, PA. Her funeral mass will follow at 11AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Bristol Elks 970 Holiday Food Baskets, 95 Wood Street, Bristol, PA 19007 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, you can donate by visiting stjude.org
