Roberto Rivera passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was 78 years old. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan Rivera Natal and Ana Maria Morales Vera, he was a Bristol resident for the past 55 years. Mr. Rivera was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was employed for many years as a Supervisor at Acme Corrugated Box Company. He was a member of St. Mark Church, and loved to grill and work in his garden.
Husband of the late Estrella Rivera, he is survived by his loving children, Samary Rivera and Robert Rivera, Jr. and his wife, Laurel. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Julia, Samantha, and Robert Bryson, and Brendan, Owen, and Ryan Rivera. He is also survived by three brothers, Angel, Jorge and Dennis Rivera, four sisters, Julia, Alba, Ana and Enid Rivera, along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by three siblings, Jenny, Juan, and Irene.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, September 29, 2025, 11:30am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may pay respects from 10-11:30am at the Church.
