Nancy Carol Zinke

Nancy Carol Zinke (née Snyder), born March 6, 1948, to William S. and Isabella N. Snyder (née MacKrell), loved Jesus with all her heart, and lived to learn and teach. She graduated Bristol High School (1966), Houghton University (Foreign Language Education: Spanish, 1970), and Temple University (M.Ed., 1976)

She married the love of her life, Robert Zinke, in late June 1970. While teaching in Philadelphia, she produced two wonderful daughters 10.5 months apart. Her teaching, mostly at church schools, spanned preschool to college level, sometimes concurrently. Her innovative and effective teaching led to her being named in Who’s Who Among American Teachers.

Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ was shown in teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, women’s Bible studies, young adults’ classes, CEF 5-Day Clubs, released time Bible classes, Pioneer Girls and Awana Clubs, singing both as a chorister and soloist, training teachers as well as teaching in day schools at four churches throughout the course of her career.

Nancy’s greatest joy was seeing her children follow the Lord in productive spiritual service, and she counted as her children both those in her bloodline as well as her students and “grandstudents.”

Her final graduation was June 5, 2025, when she exited this life to be with her beloved Savior, leaving behind her precious husband Robert, daughters Martha Ellen (and William Smith), and Virginia, and four dearly loved grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at First Baptist Church of Bristol, 6139 Bristol-Emilie Road, Levittown, PA 19057, with an hour for visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private, at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
