Obituary

Marjorie Louise Mozes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Care One Harmony Village in Moorestown, New Jersey. She was 86 years old. Born in Clairton, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (nee Stim) Hammar, she was a Levittown resident for the past 57 years.

Upon graduating Clairton High School and before marrying Very Reverend Protopresbyter Theodore Z. Mozes on August 31, 1964, Marjorie worked as a sales associate for the famous American department chain Gimbel's in the Pittsburgh area. Marjorie returned to the workforce in 1988 through a temp agency. She began her second career as an administrative assistant for Tab Products in Bristol, PA. She was then employed by the Law School Admissions Council in Newtown, PA working alongside her beloved sister Nancy Hammar. Before retiring, Marjorie also worked as an administrative assistant for Betz-Dearborn Trevose, PA followed by a tenure of more than 10 years at McGraw-Hill Education in East Windsor, NJ where she was a business analyst in the Permit Processing Department.

A loyal servant of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese, Marjorie was a devoted Pani, the traditional title used for the wife of a parish priest, in all the parishes Father Mozes served in Wilpen and Latrobe, Pennsylvania and East Chicago, Indiana before arriving at SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Levittown, PA, where she served God as Pani to Father Mozes for 57 years.

In addition to her commitment to and passion for the church she loved so dearly, Marjorie's many passions included gardening, sewing, baking and cooking. Marjorie was an excellent cook, especially traditional Russian food dishes and other cross culinary delights like her famous Binghamton Chicken that was served at every holiday from Christmas to Easter.

Beloved wife of 62 years of the late Very Reverend Protopresbyter Theodore Z. Mozes; Marjorie is survived by her children, Sarah, John, and Emily (Anthony); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Riley, JT, Alex, Julianna, Abby, Alexandria, Anthony; her brother, Andy Hammar; and many parishioners and friends.
