Obituary

Louis C. Spielberger passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 80 years old. Son of the late Louis C. and Elizabeth Spielberger, he was born in Philadelphia, raised a family in Fairless Hills, and was a longtime resident of the Croydon and Bristol areas. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Spielberger; his daughter, Lori Dea and her husband, Mike; his son, Lou Spielberger; and his grandchildren, Zack and Corey. He is also survived by his stepson, Chris Martin, and his step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Martin, along with several nieces and nephews.

Lou learned carpentry at a young age and worked building homes in his early years before transitioning to a job in the carpenter shop of US Steel. In the mid-80s and 90s, Lou enjoyed his time as a self-employed contractor with his son before spending the final 23 years of his career as lead carpenter at Lower Bucks Hospital.

He had a passion for anything with a motor and truly enjoyed life’s adventures. He especially loved riding his motorcycle, making trips to Wildwood during Bike Week, and spending time with his beloved truck. He always had a special place in his heart for his “toys.” In his younger years, that passion included dirt bikes, quads, snowmobiles, and riding his dune buggy through the Pine Barrens. Lou was an all-around handyman who could fix just about anything. He was happiest when he was tinkering, often spending countless hours in his basement, surrounded by his tools and working on his latest project. If something was broken, Lou was the person you could count on to figure out how to fix it and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was also a longtime member of Penn Warner Lake, where he enjoyed boating, relaxing, and making memories with the many friends who became such an important part of his life. He treasured those times on the lake and the friendships he made along the way. Lou had a special appreciation for blues music and volunteered his time with the Bucks County Blues Society. Music, friends, motorcycles, boating, and his many projects brought him great joy throughout his life.

Lou leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence will be deeply felt, but the laughter, stories, adventures, and good times he shared with others will live on in their hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Lou's life on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 beginning at 1pm, followed by Words of Remembrance at 2:30pm, at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
