Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend Kelley Michelle Zimmerman (Scott). After a 13 year battle with cancer, Kelley’s journey on this mortal earth ended and her new journey with our lord and savior began.

Kelley is preceded in death by her father, the Reverend Mr William Lee Scott; her paternal grandparents Harvey and Ester Scott; maternal grandparents, Paul and Josephine Zaludek; and her nephew, baby Paul Scott. She leaves behind her best friend, soul mate, and amazing husband David Zimmerman. Also left behind on the Scott side are her mother Gwen Scott; her brothers Shawn and Eric Scott; her sisters in law Joan Scott and Terri Scott; her nephews William, Patrick, Stephen, Nathan, John-Anthony, and Timothy Scott; her nieces Bernadette Recznik and Sydney Rein; and her great nieces and nephews Monica, Damien, Naomi, Xavier, and Elijah Recznik.

On the Zimmerman side Kelley leaves behind her mother in law Polly Zimmerman; her father in law John Zimmerman; her step-son Robert Evan’s; brother in laws Michael Zimmerman, Sean Zimmerman Wall; her sisters in laws Sharon Gandy, Amber Zimmerman Wall, Ariel Zimmerman Wall, and Janine Zimmerman; and her nieces and nephews: Rachel, Hannah, and August Zimmerman; Megan and William Gandy; and Wyatt and Victoria Zimmerman Wall.

By way of extended family Kelley leaves behind her close cousins Patricia Jimenez, Serena Jimenez, Vanessa Jimenez, and Claudia Fortunato who have all been of great support to Kelley and David throughout Kelley’s thirteen year battle with cancer.

There are so many more friends and family that Kelley touched throughout her life that warrant recognition; far too many to list. To all of those people not listed here the Scotts and Zimmermans extend their heart felt thanks for all of the love and support you have extended over the years.

Kelley Zimmerman lived a rich and very full life with her husband, David Zimmerman. A graduate of Misericordia University with a degree in Music Therapy Kelley led a life of service to others. She touched many lives along the way, but no life more special than her husband David’s. Kelley and David met on September 21, 1981 while roller skating the week before Kelley started her freshman year of high school. While their paths parted briefly during college, Kelley and David remained close friends across many miles until they married on October 1, 1994. Together they spent 32 years as husband and wife each deeply devoted to the until the very end. David never left her side for more than a few minutes during Kelley’s final days.

In her life Kelley wore many different hats and played many different roles. To some she was their boss. To others she was a devoted friend. To me she was my little sister and she will be greatly missed. An extremely talented musician Kelley played multiple instruments and possessed an amazing First Soprano voice. For many years Kelley sang the National Anthem for the Trenton Thunder who served as a farm team for the Detroit Tigers, the Boston Red Socks, and most recently the New York Yankees. Every Christmas and New Years Kelley would bring her voice to the annual Scott Family Hootin-Nanny to ring in the next year. Her voice will now be added to the choirs of angels in heaven; and knowing Kelley she’ll be leading that choir from the moment she passes through the pearly gates.

Shortly after being diagnosed with cancer Kelley began volunteering with Pink Fishing, a non-profit organization working to support breast cancer survivors. Kelley spearheaded fundraising drives, served on the Pink Fishing board of directors, and was on the pro-staff for 10 years fishing many tournaments with her husband David. She was awarded the Robert Mollergren Team Pink Member of the Year in 2017. Additionally Kelley had the honour on many occasions to sing the National Anthem to open the Annual Pink Fishing Tournaments in Belton, Texas. Kelley also had the honour of singing the National Anthem at the Bass Master Weekend Series Regional Championship on the James River in Virginia.

To some Kelley was a force of nature. She could be stern as a boss. But, anyone who truly knew Kelley’s inner heart found her to be kind, caring, and compassionate. Every New Years Kelley and David could be counted on to bring Hersheys Chocolate directly from the Hershey factory which was on their way to Steubenville. Extreme generosity was Kelley’s nature, she could always be counted on to bring treats to her chemo treatments to brighten everyone’s day.

Kelley was a true warrior. Throughout her battle with cancer Kelley stood her post at her job making sure medical personnel were in place at many different medical facilities. Every day of the last four years of her life was a struggle, a challenge to overcome. And Kelley overcame all those challenges and stood as a tall and proud warrior to the end. She was a shield maiden like no other. God has now called her home, I do have to wonder if God truly understands who he just called home. Kelley Zimmerman will be missed by all in this world, but the Heavens have a new and persistent angel that will never quit, backdown, or run from a fight.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 27, 2026, 11am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, Pa. Interment, private. Kelley's viewings will be held on Friday evening from 7-9pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St, Bristol, and on Saturday morning from 9-10:45am at the Church.
