John A. Willis, Jr.

John A. Willis, Jr. passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. He was 77. Born in Bristol, son of the late John and Dorothy Schreck Willis, he was raised in Bristol and has been a Levittown resident for the past 45 years. John attended Bristol High School, and served 4 years, as a jet mechanic, in the United States Air Force. He retired after 30 years as a mechanic for PECO and also was employed for 20 years at Bucks County Transport. John was an avid musician and was a self-taught guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica player. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, playing music around the campfire and bike riding with his children and grandchildren. John was a member of the Bracken Cadets and played in the Andalusia Jug Band for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Kohler Willis, his children, John Willis, Charlotte Alice Michaels and Marie Zizzo (Mike), his 6 grandchildren, Charlotte Byelich, Phillip Michaels, Sydney Marie Willis, Madelyn, Rocco and Gianna Zizzo and his 5 great-grandchildren, Layla, Austin, Harper, Nora and Bruno. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Dottie Bertle and Betty Hughes along with many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by 1 sister, Ann McLaughlin and 3 brothers, Wayne Willis, Bill Willis and Jimmy Willis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough, 11am until 12:30pm at which time there will be a brief time to share memories. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.
