James V. "Jim" Hart passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 22, 2026, one month short of his 93rd birthday. Son and second born to James and Elizabeth (nee Burke) Hart, Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School, Class of 1951, and Drexel University, Class of 1957. He went on to a career in engineering, working 23 years for Domino Sugar and then retiring from Betz Laboratories after 18 years of service. A longtime resident of Yardley, PA, he was a proud 50-year member of the Yardley Country Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds of golf and cherished friendships. In his younger years, Jim was known for being a champion pool player throughout Philadelphia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Alice (Falvey) Hart, his children (Karen Hart, James Hart, and Michael Hart), four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Hart-Sweeney along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim is predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth (nee Burke) Hart, Sister Marie Esther IHM, and grandson Ryan King.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 10:30am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Yardley. Friends may pay respects from 9:30-10:30am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camilla Hall, 100 Maxis Drive, Malvern, PA 19355.
