Howard C. Wambold, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Howard Charles and Anna Virginia (née Gillies) Wambold. He spent the last 50 years living in Levittown, where he was surrounded by neighbors he knew for years, along with some newer ones who quickly got to know him too. He liked joking around with them, appreciated the help they gave him when he needed it, and could often be found sitting out on the front porch talking to just about anyone who walked by.
Howard spent most of his life on the road as an owner-operator, driving his truck, which he took great pride in. He liked being behind the wheel, seeing different places, meeting people along the way, and finding new spots to grab a good meal. In his later years, he appreciated spending more time at home with his wife, Ellen, who was the love of his life. He was especially grateful to his close friend Anthony, with whom he spent a great deal of time—whether it was rides to doctor’s appointments, going out to lunch or dinner, helping with projects around the house, or mowing the lawn, Anthony was always available to help. Over the years, he made many friendships with other drivers and was always ready to lend a hand, share what he knew, or just swap stories.
When he wasn’t working, Howard enjoyed going to breakfast with his buddies, truck shows, trips to Las Vegas, Australia to visit his second family, cruises and especially heading down the shore. Wildwood was a favorite, where he spent many summers with his kids, grandkids, his sister Maryann, and plenty of extended family and friends. Those trips meant a lot to him and to everyone who shared them with him.
Howard will be remembered as a hardworking, straight-shooting guy who lived life his own way, valued his family, and built strong friendships wherever he went.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ellen G. (nee Morris) Wambold, and sisters Claire, Linda and Arlene, his brother Paul, and his granddaughter, Alexxa Parell, he is survived by his loving children, Melissa Hensor, Thomas "Tucker" Wambold (Kristen), Kristin Parell, and David Wambold (Valerie). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brittany O'Neill (Corey), Paige Hensor (John), Chad Hensor (Alex), Shauna Brooks (Ian), Kassidy Parell, Francis Parell, Taylor Wambold, Drew Hensor, Alyssa Wambold (Dylan), Carly Wambold, and Lucas Wambold, and his two great-grandchildren, Jace O'Neill and Kinsley O'Neill. He is also survived by two sisters, Maryann Boyles and Rita Modzelewski, along with many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 6:30 PM at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. His viewing will be held from 4:30 PM until the time of service. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Breathing Room Foundation, Inc., 8310 Brookside Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
