Ellanna L. Delaney passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She was 88 years old. Born in Bristol, daughter of the late Milton E. and Helen G. (nee Conley) Knoth, she was a lifelong Bristol Borough resident. Mrs. Delaney graduated as salutatorian from Bristol High School, Class of 1956, and went on to receive her degree in Nursing from Temple University in 1959. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lower Bucks Hospital, retiring after 38 years of service. She was a devoted member of St. Mark Church, the Bristol High School Band Boosters, the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation, and the Celtic Heritage Foundation.
Wife of the late Lawrence J. Delaney, Jr., she was the loving mother of Kevin J. Delaney and his wife, Patricia, Lawrence E. Delaney and his wife, Lisa, Karen D. Wheeler and her husband, John, and Bridget C. Calhoun and her husband, Shawn. Ellanna will be sadly missed by her thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Adamusko.
Nothing brought Mrs. Delaney more joy than being present for the people she loved the most. Her favorite place to be was on the sidelines of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering them on through every win and loss. She took immense pride in every school program, band concert, and activity, always serving as their most devoted fan and loudest supporter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 11am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00pm and on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org or at the link below.
