Eleanor Guerriero, 90, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 22, 2026, with her family close by, surrounded by love.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (née O’Donnell) Kelly. Eleanor spent her early years in Hazleton before meeting her husband, Jasper. After they were married, they moved to Trenton, New Jersey, where they began their life together and started their family. In 1959, she settled in Levittown, where she remained a devoted resident for the next 66 years.
Eleanor lived a life defined by love, determination, and service to others. While raising her three children, she continued her education, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work and later a master’s degree in School Counseling. She went on to dedicate many years as a school counselor in the Catholic school system, with her final position at Our Lady of Grace School in Penndel. Through her work, she touched countless lives with her compassion, guidance, and unwavering support.
She was deeply engaged in her community and passionate about making a difference. Eleanor was active in Bucks County and Bristol Township politics, where she devoted her time to causes and candidates she believed in. She tirelessly volunteered—marching, rallying, knocking on doors, and even appearing in campaign commercials. She was especially proud of her work supporting Congressman Patrick Murphy, who visited her in her final days—a testament to the lasting impact she had on those around her.
Eleanor had a love for reading and writing and contributed articles to the Courier Times. She had a curious mind and a strong voice, always eager to learn and share her thoughts. But above all else, she cherished her family.
She was the kind of person who opened her home to everyone—a place where her children’s friends were always welcome. To many, she became “Gam” offering warmth, guidance, and unconditional love.
Her family was her greatest joy. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved her deeply in return. They knew her as “Gam” or “Gammer” and she became “Gam” to so many, because anyone who knew her felt like they belonged to her. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday in November, and true to her spirit, she danced her way out of the party that night—a moment that perfectly captured her joy for life.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel, and her son, Danny, whose loss she carried in her heart and missed deeply for 15 years. We find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Marie Coll and Kathleen Shulik, as well as her son in law, Warren Poorman.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Helen Guerriero and Tricia Masceri (Steve); her cherished grandchildren, Jesse (Jackie), Danielle (Joe), Justine, Stephen, Nicholas, Daniel, Samantha (Jon), Nicole, Carly and Kelly; and her six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Kelly, and her brother in law Edward Shulik, along with extended family and many who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Eleanor will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her fierce love for her family, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy lives on in the family she built, the community she served, and the love she gave so freely.
In true Eleanor fashion, she never sought the spotlight in life and requested a private funeral ceremony. In remembrance of Eleanor, wear something green, raise a glass, say “Sláinte,” and, in her honor—remember to vote.
Eleanor committed her life working for a better community and country. Donations can be made in her name to Kennedy Democrats, a Bucks County headquartered organization supporting a new generation of leaders across Pennsylvania.
