Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, son of the late Edward and Jeanne Margavich, he has been a Bristol resident for most of his life. Ed was employed as a Truck Driver at James D. Morrissey and later at DePaul Trucking. He enjoyed hunting and walking his dog, Tilly.

Ed was a former Fire Chief, and current Captain of Fire Police for the Third District Volunteer Fire Company, and in September would have celebrated 65 dedicated years of service to the organization. Ed was a member of the Bristol Township Fire Police Association and a Life Member of both the Third District Volunteer Fire Company and the Goodwill Hose Company #3. He was also a Life Member of the following organizations: The Bucks County Fire Police Association, The Bucks County Fireman's Association and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1169.

Ed's sudden passing has deeply affected the Third District Volunteer Fire Company and the broader fire service community in Bucks County. He was respected for his wisdom and valued presence at meetings, and his absence will be keenly felt by all.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy (nee Jeffries) Margavich; his brother-in-law, Howard McGoldrick; his nephew, Howard E. McGoldrick and his wife, Rose; his nieces, Pamela McGoldrick and Victoria Lawson; and his great-niece, Taylor Rizzo. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth McGoldrick and Jane Lawson.
