Edward James Hanes

October 7, 1960 — February 9, 2026

Levittown

Edward James Hanes, born October 7, 1960, has passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 9, 2026.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen and Emil Hanes, and his brother Stephen Hanes. He was a devoted father to his two children, Kyle Hanes and Jessica Hanes, who were the pride of his life.

Edward is also survived by his siblings John Hanes, Anna Hoehn (Ron), and Richard Hanes (Rita). He is survived as well by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly and held close to his heart.

Edward was a lifelong Levittown resident and tradesman who took pride in his work until he retired. He found peace and happiness in the simple joys of life. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors, where he felt most at home. He took great pride in caring for his dogs — especially his beloved boy, Bandit — as well as his cats. He enjoyed tending to his garden throughout the years. Music was another joy in his life, and he especially loved listening to bluegrass, which often provided the soundtrack to his quiet moments and time spent outdoors.

Edward will be remembered for his humorous nature, his love for animals and the outdoors, his appreciation for music, and his deep devotion to family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.

A service to honor Edward’s life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 6-8:00pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania.
