David E. McGlynn passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home. He was 85 years old. Born and raised in Bristol Borough, son of the late Edward and Marjorie (nee Ferry) McGlynn, Dave attended St. Mark School and Bristol High School. He soon joined the United States Navy, where he was involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Prior to his retirement, Dave was a longtime employee of Rohm & Haas.

Dave was an avid runner, completing 5 marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. He also loved biking, and participated in the small race and biked the classic Manayunk Wall.

Dave's enthusiasm for sports took him many times to see his favorite football team, University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He held a special memory of visiting there in 2022 with his grandsons, David, Bob, and Dan.

He was also a member of the Ireland Dancers and participated in many parades. He was especially proud to have been awarded "Celt of the Year" by the Celtic Heritage Foundation of Bristol. Photography was another one of Dave's interests, having won awards for two photos entitled "Bristol at It's Best" and "Tranquil Reflections".

Predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Ann Lott; he is survived by his loving daughters, Colleen Valentino and Kathleen Tenaglia (Michael); and his caring partner, Mary Kehoe. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Bob Schied (Brittanie), David Schied, Amber Valentino (Cassandra), Daniel Tenaglia (Cindy), and Vincent Tenaglia; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom, Paul, Neil, and Mark. He was also predeceased by two stepdaughters, Joann and Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 11am at St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Inurnment will be held immediately following the Mass at St. Mark Church Columbarium. A visitation will be held from 9:30am until time of Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3551 N Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
