Mary Christine (Chrissy) Martinez of Bucks County passed away on February 1, 2026, at Crestview Nursing Center. She is finally at peace.
Christine was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 5, 1956. At the age of five she moved to Bristol Borough.
She was the long-awaited baby of Theodore and Severina (Mendez) Martinez. Whether it was her academic success or her first great achievement when she won a beautiful baby contest, she always made them proud.
Chrissy had a very happy childhood and especially loved going to West Virginia in the summer to spend a few days on her uncle’s farm with her cousins. She loved fishing with her family off the jetties at the Jersey shore and sunbathing. Her love for the beach never faded. She also loved sewing, cooking, and spending time with her friends.
She was a graduate of Bristol Jr.- Sr. High School, class of 1974 and the University of Pennsylvania nursing program, class of 1977. Upon graduating she was employed as a NICU nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Chrissy is survived by her four children: Kristin D’Amico (Mario), Jeffrey (Tara), Kimberly Leifeste (Nick–deceased), and David (Lauren) and six grandchildren: Tristan, Lila, Evelyn, Jeremy, Wyatt, and Elianna. In addition, she is survived by her sister (who always called her ‘Te’), Phyllis Martinez-Klubert (Al), half-sister Dolores Grilli (Eugene-deceased), two nephews and several cousins.
Special thanks and appreciation go to the girls of the Bristol High School Class of 1974, whose love and support of both Chrissy and Phyllis will always be cherished. They and others like them made growing up in Bristol Borough a wonderful place to call home, where people cared for and looked out for each other in good times and bad. No matter the path life took her on she always found comfort coming home.
The family sends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Silver Lake Nursing Home where she resided for 12 years, Amedysis Hospice Service and Crestview Nursing Home for the special care and compassion they showed Chris.
Rest in Peace ‘Te’
Arrangements are by Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA. There are no visitation hours.
