Charles W. Dougherty, Sr. passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Jefferson Bucks Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 78. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Wesley and Trine Dougherty, he was a Bucks County resident for most of his life. Mr. Dougherty proudly served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant stationed at Fort Knox. He was the owner of his sales rep agency, Chuck Dougherty & Associates, for 35 years. Mr. Dougherty achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and was the CYO Athletic Director and coach at St. Michael the Archangel Church, where he also served as an usher.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathy (nee Conn) Dougherty, his children, Chuck Dougherty, Jr. (Jennifer), Shannon Dougherty (Liz), and Kevin Dougherty (Jackie), and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Keane, Caleb, and Saoirse. He is also survived by his brother, Rodger Dougherty, along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his nephew, Christopher Dougherty, and his niece, Eileen Maldonado.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 12 noon at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning, 9:30-11:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the University of Delaware in memory of Charles Dougherty. Gifts will support the University of Delaware Stroke Studies .
