Obituary
Sgt. Michael M. McCloskey
Sgt. Michael M. McCloskey, age 26, beloved son of William and Cindy McCloskey, brother, father, and friend to many passed away on March 6, 2011 while on active duty in the U.S. Army. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska at the time of his death.
Sgt. McCloskey joined the Army in August, 2002 and served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus for two years and performed at the re-dedication of the Statue of Liberty. He began his first tour of duty in Iraq in 2005 as a construction engineer with the 84th Engineer Company. His second tour in Iraq was completed in November 2009. Among his other accomplishments, Sgt. McCloskey graduated from Advanced Training and Leadership in Lifesaving.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his son, Connor R. McCloskey; his sister April; and four brothers, William, Matthew, Nicholas, Jonathan; Matthew's wife, Annalise; and nephew Matthew. He is the grandson of Stan and Janice Marek, and Mary McCloskey and the late Donald McCloskey. Michael brought joy and humor to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to acknowledge the extensive outpouring of support they have received during this difficult time. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Boro.
