Lonnie Malcolm Sanders
On the 6th of March, 2011, Lonnie Malcolm Sanders was called to rest by the Lord, 1 month before his 53rd birthday. Having fought a long and courageous battle, he passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his children, siblings and his first love.
Born in Fayetteville, NC to Virginia Ann Barfield and Lonnie Lee Sanders, Malcolm was a true blue country boy for the first decade of his life. His family later moved to Levittown, residing in Indian Creek and attending Woodrow Wilson High School. At the age of 17, he made his decision to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving in the 2nd battalion of the 7th Calvary unit. He received the Army Achievement Medal, as as well as several achievement awards and commendations, during his 9 years of service.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Mason and Lonnie Lee Sanders as well as his son, Andrew Sanders. Surviving Malcolm with heavy hearts to bear his loss are his children; Lonnie M. Clausson, Nathan L. Clausson, Samantha and Alfredo Sanders-Mejia, Margaret Ellen Sanders, Angela M. Sanders, and Maria L. Sanders, his 8 beloved grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, Mr and Mrs. Frank Newsham, Virginia Sanders, Regina Larsen, Mr and Mrs. Mike Ryan and Mr and Mrs. Richard Mason.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, March 10, 2011, 1:00pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro. Interment, private. Friends may call Thursday 12 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions that would be welcomed be sent to; Mrs. Patricia Newsham, 906 Winder Drive, Bristol, Pa 19007.
