Joseph Flanagan
Joseph Flanagan, age 85,of Levittown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. Born and raised in Bristol, Borough, Mr. Flanagan has been a Levittown resident since 1955. He was a graduate of Bristol High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII from September 1944 to August 1946 aboard a supply ship in the Pacific. Mr. Flanagan was employed at the Trenton Times Newspaper, starting as a linotype operator and eventually operating the most technologically advanced typo-graphic computer systems, retiring after 42 years of service He was a 4th degree member of St. Joseph the Worker Council, Knights of Columbus.
Predeceased by his wife, Frances (nee Hoffman) Flanagan and his daughter, Amy Flanagan; he is survived by his four children; Joseph Flanagan, Jr. (Eileen), Kevin Flanagan (Carole), Colleen Flanagan and Michael Flanagan (Diane). He is also survived by his grand-daughter; Megan Criscio, 1 brother, James Flanagan, along with many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 28, 2011, 10:30am at St. John the Evangilist Church, Big Oak Road, Yardley. Interment, Our Lady of Grace Cem., Langhorne. Friends may call Friday evening 7-9:00pm and Saturday morning 9-9:45am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, 1201 Langhorne-Newtown Rd., Langhorne, Pa 19047.
