Isabel S. Stockalis

Isabel S. Stockalis, age 91, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol. Born in Mahanoy City, Pa , daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Shadis, she lived in Girardville, Pa., prior to moving to Bristol Township 58 years ago. Mrs. Stockalis was employed as a chef for many years at O'Boyles Restaurant in Bristol and prior to that, was employed at Ashland Shirt Factory. She was a very active communicant of St. Mark Church, where she was a member of St. Mark Sodality and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court 1097, where she held various offices for both organizations. She was also very instrumental in starting and organizing Hospitaility Sunday, helped clean the altar linens and count the Sunday collections. Mrs. Stockalis was a past president and life member of the Third District Fire Company, and also was a member of the Golden Mark Seniors, where she also held various offices, the Oxford Valley Seniors and the Bishop Conwell Parents Association. She also volunteered at Lower Bucks Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Mrs. Stockalis was named Woman of the Year, by the Bristol Lions Club, in 1985.

Wife of the late Albert Stockalis, Sr., she is survived by her children, Barbara and her husband, John, Albert and his wife, Janet and Carolyn and her husband, Dan, her 7 grandchildren, Joanne, Tina, Karyn, Anthony, Stephanie, Cindy and Kathleen, 11 great-grandchildren, and expecting number 12 any day, along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stockalis was predeceased by 1 brother, Joel and 1 sister, Alberta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 15, 2011, 10:00am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Boro. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening 7-9:00pm and Thursday morning 8:30-9:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Str., Bristol, Pa 19007.
