Robert Edward Dillon, Sr.
Robert Edward Dillon, Sr., age 85, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Media, Pa., he was a Bristol Township resident for over 50 years. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in the South Pacific, during WWII, he played in the Marine Band and also served 4 years in the Army Reserves. Mr. Dillon was employed as a bus driver for Bristol Township Schools and also worked as an inspector at the Naval Shipyard and as a machinist at Morton-Thiokol. He played the drums for 40 years in a swing and jazz band, and was a member of the Bristol Township Senior Citizens for over 20 years. Mr. Dillon was an avid reader, fisherman, camper and a great handiman.
Son of the late James and Ola nee Cox Dillon, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dolores nee Kovitch, 5 children, Robert, Jr., Rochelle Schepise, Sandra Dillon, Edward Dillon and Dolores Posten, along with many grandchidren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 18, 2007, 10:30am at St. Mark Church, Bristol Boro. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery.
