| Obituary Mary Ellen Snyder Mary Ellen (nee Gallagher) Snyder, age 84, of Bristol Boro., passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, at Langhorne Gardens Nursing Center. Born in Bristol Boro, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Snyder attended St. Mark School, as did her mother and children, was a graduate of Hallahan Girls Catholic High School, Philadelphia, and received her nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ, where she proudly served as a Nurse Cadet, during WWII. She began her nursing career as an Operating Room Nurse, at the newly opened Lower Bucks Hospital. Mrs. Snyder was a School Nurse for St. Mark School, St. Ann School, and Jefferson Ave. School, for over 20 years. She loved being a School Nurse and could remember all the children's names and their families. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Church, a founding member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Bristol, a member of t he Bristol Borough Education Association and loved being a "Gallagher Girl". Mrs. Snyder was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary every evening for her intentions as well as the intentions of others. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles and knit and was an avid Phillies fan, win or lose. |
