Vincent D. O’Boyle
Bristol Resident
Vincent D. O’Boyle, age 81, of Bristol, PA, died August 29, 2007, surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Born in Bristol, PA, he was a lifetime resident. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army as a surgeon assistant on the Burma/India border. He was the owner and operator of O’Boyle’s Ice Cream Company after returning from the war. A member of St. James Episcopal Church, Mr. O’Boyle was an avid worker and loved hunting. He taught his children and grandchildren to ski and was an excellent bowler. In the early 1970’s, he and a friend owned a plane and traveled to the Bahamas and New England, among other adventures.
Son of the late Francis and Sarah (nee Groff) O’Boyle. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (nee Mills) O’Boyle, three sons; Vincent O’Boyle, Jr. of Levittown, John O’Boyle of Yardley, Brendan O’Boyle of New Hope, two daughters, Desiree O’Boyle-Osorio of Langhorne and Elena Harris of New Hope and step-daughter Teish of Levittown , 10 grandchildren, Beverly Grace, Ian, Lisa Pagan, Silvia Osorio, Brendan O’Boyle, Jr., Alexandra, Nicholas and Gabriella Harris, Barbara, Michael and Vincent O’Boyle III and 4 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by one sister, Sara Smith of Winston-Salem, NC, and former spouse, Helena O’Boyle-Wilson. He was predeeased by his brother Francis O’Boyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, private. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadephia, PA 19106.
