Marianna Duffy Griffith
Sister

Marianna Duffy Griffith, age 87, of Bristol Boro, passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her dearest family and friends at her side on Friday, August 10, 2007.  Born in Bristol Boro, she was a lifelong resident.  She retired from 3M Co., Bristol Township after many years of service in the international shipping department, was a devout communicant of St. Mark Church, and a member of Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation.   

Marianna was known for her love of Bristol Borough.  She enjoyed dancing and especially to the sounds of big band music.  Marianna enjoyed all sports.  She was a standout track star at Bristol High School (Class of 1938) and was considered as an olympic participant in the 1940 Olympic Games.   

Marianna was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Margaret (nee Highland) Duffy, her brother, Louis Duffy, her sister, Margaretta McCue and her nephew, William McCue.  She is survived by her niece, Mary Louise Sessa and her husband, Marty, of Levittown, a sister-in-law, Sue Duffy of Bristol, 3 great-nieces, Dawn White (David), Donna and Chris Sarver, and Dana Sessa (Kevin), 1 great-nephew, Marty Sessa (Lori) along with 10 great-nieces and nephews, dearest friends, Robert Simkins and family, Norma Yuffrida and special friend, Monsigner Joseph Ferraro.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday evening 6-9:00pm at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro.  A funeral mass will be celebrated, Monday, August 13, 2007, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Str., Bristol  19007 with a viewing from 10-11:00am in Church.  Interment, Bristol Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark Church or St. Mark School Tuition Fund, at the above address.    www.wadefh.com
