David Francis White David Francis White, age 69, of Washington Township, Pa., passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia. Son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (nee Schweitzer) White, he was born and raised in Bristol Boro. Dave resided in Galloway Township from 1966-1986 and Bellmawr, NJ for many years until recently moving to Washington Township, Pa. He was a member of the Galloway Athletic Assoc for many years and coached Little League Baseball and the Senior Baseball League. He served as Mayor of Galloway and then remained on Council. He was responsible for promoting major changes in the Township; one of his priorities was Traffic Safety, which included various new traffic signals located at highly dangerous intersections. He was able to secure funding increases for the Galloway Township Athletic Assoc, along with funding for the Arthur Ran School from the Federal Government in the amount of 1/2 Million Dollars, which ended split sessions. He was responsible for securing the social building at the GTAA Park from the Noyse family that is now used for many events and secured an additional seven acres of land for GTAA. Dave was also instrumental in getting state funding for "Chris Gaup Drive" in Galloway that provides direct access from the White Horse Pike to ARMC Mainland Division Hospital. He was influential in securing the property from Gross's Winery which is the new GT Municipal Building on Jimmy Leeds Road. He helped expand the sewer system throughout the township due to environmental problems and to spur economic development. He participated in the Townships Master Plan that was created by council and other prospects such as affordable housing which is still in effect. Dave also brought TV cable to the township and got a grant to build the Senior Center on Pomona Road. Husband of the late Alice White, he is survived by his children, Dalene White and David White and his wife, Lori, 2 grandchildren, Brittany and Wade White, 2 brothers, Louis White and his wife, Libby and Carl White and his wife, Bonnie. He is also survived by his loving companion, Phyllis Rydzewski and his former wife, Joan White, 2 stepchildren, Donna and Michael Paplovich, along with many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by 1 brother, Harry White, 1 sister, Katherine Murdock and 1 stepson, Tony Paplovich. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 11:00am at St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro. Interment, private. Friends may call Friday evening 7-9:00pm and Saturday morning 10-10:45am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Str., Bristol Boro.
