Samuel Joseph Carcione
Former Croydon Acres Resident
Samuel Joseph Carcione, age 71, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he resided in Croydon Acres for 42 years. Mr. Carcione was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was employed as an aircraft mechanic at Wings Field in Blue Bell, Pa and Agusta Aerospace in Northeast Philadelphia. He enjoyed woodworking, trips to Barnegat Light in NJ and loved taking his dog, “Mackey” for walks at Neshaminy State Park. He was a former member of the Bristol Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, of 45 years, Grace (nee Groves) Carcione, loving father of Mark Carcione and his wife, Debra of Morrisville, Pa., Annette Miller and her husband, Jeff of Langhorne, Pa., and Stephen Carcione of Warrington, Pa. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, whom he adored, Julianne, Matthew and Nicholas. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Anna Leonard of Philadelphia and Lillian Sleeger and her husband, Bill of Newtown, Pa., along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Delaware Veterans Home for the wonderful care that they provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, 11:00am at St. Ann Church, 357 Dorrance Street, Bristol Boro. Interment, Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, Pa. Friends may call Wednesday morning 8:30-10:30am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Boro.
